In November 2016 I designed a hat for the Montgomery Biscuits, Double-A affiliate of the Tampa Bay Rays. My design was a sleek, modern take on their popular biscuit character "Monty", as well as a throwback nod to striped pillbox hats that were popularized in the 1970s.
I like to think my design was chosen amongst other entries, in part, because of the anticipated response on social media. Sure enough, after my hat was released to the public sports media and fans were all on board the gravy train:
